Himachal Pradesh: BJP's Harsh Mahajan Wins In Rajya Sabha Polls

Harsh Mahajan (BJP) and Abhishek Manu Singhvi (Congress) secured 34 votes each as Congress' six MLAs cross-voted for BJP. Subsequently, the ECI conducted a draw of lots, resulting in Mahajan's victory.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant development, the BJP won the Rajya Sabha elections defeating the Congress in Himachal Pradesh on 27th February, Tuesday.

Furthermore, both candidates, Harsh Mahajan (BJP) and Abhishek Manu Singhvi (Congress) secured 34 votes each as Congress' six MLAs cross-voted for BJP. Subsequently, the ECI conducted a draw of lots, resulting in Mahajan's victory. 

The Rajya Sabha elections were held in Karnataka, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh today. Congress won three seats and BJP secured one seat in Karnataka.
