Farmers To Observe 23rd Feb As 'Black Day', Demand 1 Cr Compensation

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent statement, SSMP Chief Balbir Singh Rajewal on Thursday revealed that 23rd February will be observed as a black day for the alleged injustice against the farmers.
Moreover, Rajewal stated that the protesting farmers have demanded a compensation of Rs. One crore for the farmer who was allegedly killed during clashes in Khanauri, Punjab. Moreover, a demand to waive his loans has also been raised.
Reportedly, a protester named Shubh Karan Singh lost his life due to firing during a clash between farmers and police. However, the Haryana police has categorically denied the accusation.

The incident took place as the protesting farmers resumed their 'Delhi Chalo' march on 21st February because the fourth round of talks with the center failed to fulfill the demands of farmers. Farmers faced tear-gas shelling from the police authorities while Marching to Delhi at the Shambhu border which subsequently led to a violent clash between the police and farmers.
