BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant development, Farmer Leader Gurnam Singh Chuneri on Thursday announced a series of actions for the ongoing protests. He revealed three key steps discussed in a meeting held earlier.

Chuneri stated that the Haryana toll will be free for three hours (12:00 PM-3:00 PM) on 16th February. Furthermore, a tractor parade will be organized in every tehsil at noon on 17th February. On 18th February, a joint meeting will be held between all farmers' and laborers' organizations to take further steps.

Farmers organized a 'rail roko' (halt rail) protest today in Punjab against the use of tear gas shells and water cannons against the protesting farmers.

The authorities used tear-gas shells and water cannons to disperse the massive crowd of protesting farmers who were en route to Delhi to participate in the large-scale farmers' protest, namely the 'Delhi Chalo March', predominantly seeking legal assurance of MSP (minimum selling price). The protests grew violent on the Haryana-Shambhu border as the agitated protesters vandalized flyover barricades.
