ESI Signs MoU With Private Hospitals, No Upper Limit Cap On Expenses

Narrating numerous such instances in between signing memorandum of understanding (MoU) with 46 hospitals for treatment of ESI cardholders in the state, regional director AK Sharma mentioned that there is no limit to medical bills to one crore members. “We are signing the MoU with the hospitals today.

The ESI members and their immediate families will have to initially go for treatment to registered ESI or state government hospitals from where they can be referred to any of these private medical institutes. However in case of accidents of heart attack or any emergencies, the ESI card holders can report directly to these networked hospitals,” he said. Terming it as a landmark effort, Avijit Bhattacharjee, a ESI card holder claimed that this will be of immense medical help as there is no cap on justified expenses.
