BY A STAFF REPORTER: The West Bengal Pollution Control Board has organised a workshop cum model exhibition at Sahebkhali Nityananda High School, Hingalganj on 28th and 29th January '24. 

Students of 25 number of schools and colleges in and around Hingalganj participated in the workshop cum model exhibition. Dr.Kalyan Rudra,  Chairman, WBPCB was present in the said event. He stated ''our current lifestyle have greatly impacted the environment. A list shared by Government of India states names of 131 cities in our country which are mostly polluted, in which names of Kolkata, Howrah,Durgapur and Asansol were found''. As conveyed by Dr.Rudra, during winter the air quality deteriorates and consequently becomes unbreathable. This polluted air can affect from a new born to an elderly person.He also added about scarcity of water, about 300 rivers in our country have been polluted by wastes disposed from the cities where we can find the name of river Ganga alongside names of another 10 rivers of West Bengal. 

He also spoke about the seven themes of 'Mission Life' and urged to change our lifestyle and save our environment for a better tomorrow.
