BY A STAFF REPORTER: The Election Commission of India and Delhi Police on Friday permitted INDIA Alliance to organize a rally at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan on March 31.
The rally will be organized against the arrest of Delhi's Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal. Moreover, top alliance leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray, Sanjay Raut, Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Derek O'Brien, Tiruchi Siva, Farooq Abdullah, Champai Soren, Kalpana Soren, Sitaram Yechury, D Raja will participate in the rally.
Earlier today, Delhi Minister Gopal Rai organized a door-to-door campaign and distributed invitation pamphlets reading 'Main Bhi Kejriwal' to invite people to the upcoming INDIA Bloc rally.
Moreover, Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday extended Arvind Kejriwal's ED remand till April 1 in connection with the Delhi Liquorgate case. The ED demanded a seven-day extension of Kejriwal's custody due to his alleged evasive replies and non-cooperation in the investigation. However, the court extended the remand for four days.
Furthermore, Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court Remanded Delhi CM and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal to ED Custody till March 28 in the Delhi Liquorgate case on March 22, Friday. The decision came as ED demanded 10-day custody of Kejriwal and submitted 28 pages of evidence alleging his involvement in the Delhi Liquor Policy Scam.
The Enforcement Directorate arrested Delhi CM and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal from his residence in connection with the Delhi Liquorgate case. He was arrested following search operations and Interrogations conducted by the ED at his residence on Thursday evening.
