Several parts of Kolkata waterlogged after smart shower

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Gutsy winds with an hour of heavy rains left many areas of Kolkata waterlogged, bringing into fore front the inability of drainage system to the city to clear the accumulated water.

According to Kolkata police and KMC sources, there were reports of heavy waterlogging on AJC Bose Road near Minto Park, BB Ganguly Street, central and North Kolkata areas and some areas in Port. Police sources claimed that vehciles stood bumper to bumper at several places because of waterlogging and policemen on road had a trying time to keep traffic moving on the road.
