Union Minister and BJP leader Dr. Sukanta Majumdar recently voiced strong criticisms regarding the ongoing situation in Bangladesh, as well as Mamata Banerjee's position on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
Addressing the issue of attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, Dr. Majumdar called for global condemnation, stating, "What is happening in Bangladesh is being discussed in the whole world. The whole world should raise its voice against this." He specifically referenced the recent attacks in Beldanga, where Hindu homes were targeted, questioning the response of the local West Bengal police. "Few days ago houses of some Hindus were attacked and their houses were torched in Beldanga. What did the West Police do?" he asked.

On the issue of CAA, Dr. Majumdar criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for opposing the law in West Bengal. He pointed out the contradiction in her stance, saying, "Mamata Banerjee is not letting CAA be implemented in West Bengal. CAA is for Hindus who have come to West Bengal. Today, she is saying that Hindus from there (Bangladesh) should come here. First, she should allow the implementation of CAA in the state. This is double standards."
Dr. Majumdar also dismissed the INDIA bloc, an opposition alliance, as a fragmented entity. "Does INDIA bloc exist? It is just individual bricks which are going in different directions," he remarked. He further expressed confidence that the Prime Minister will continue to be from the BJP for the next 30 years, asserting, “Everyone (leaders in INDIA alliance) wants to become the PM but it will not happen.”
