DG BSF visits BSF South Bengal Frontier and reviews security Arrangements at ICP Petrapole

  BY A STAFF REPORTER:   On 8.5.2023, Dr Sujoy Lal Thaosen, IPS, DG BSF accompanied by Addl DG BSF Eastern Command Ms Sonali Mishra, IPS & Shri Ayush Mani Tiwari, IPS IG BSF SB Frontier flew from Kolkata by BSF Heptor for BSF BOP Kalyani and further visited ICP Petrapole to review the security preparedness for the visit of Hon'ble Shri Amit Shah, Minister of Home Affairs and Co-operation for inaugration of Police Station at ICP Petrapole and Foundation Stone Laying and Bhumi Pujan ceremony of Maitree Dwar at ICP Patrapole. Home minister will also virtually inaugrate newly constructed BSF BOPs and other Buildings of BSF SB Frontier and NB Frontier. 

DG BSF interacted with officials of LPAI and agencies working at ICP Petrapole. DG BSF also interacted with BSF troops who effected the seizure of 6.950 Kgs of Gold today morning from a Kolkata Bound Maitree Bus coming from Dhaka Bangladesh and announced cash rewarded for them. It is worth to mention here that today at about 0735 hrs, on a specific input, troops of BSF deployed at ICP Petrapole carried out intense search of Kolkata bound Maitree Bus coming from Dhaka and recovered 6.950 Kgs of Gold from the Bus.

DG BSF directed BSF Commanders and troops to maintain strict vigil on the the Border & curb nefarious activities of trans-border criminals & anti National elements.  

Thereafter DG BSF left for BOP Hingalganj by Heptor and visited inaccessible border areas of Sunderbans and F/BOPs. He interacted with the troops deployed at Floating BOPs and commended their efforts in maintaining strict vigil at Indo-Bangladesh Border.
