Demolished The Wall of Article 370: PM Modi In Udhampur, J&K

Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. He also assured that the assembly polls will be held in the Union Territory soon.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a jibe at the Opposition for Article 370 and alleged appeasement politics while addressing a rally in Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir on April 12, Friday.

PM Modi claimed that the previous government built the wall of Article 370, which gave special status to J&K, for the sake of power. PM Modi further stated that he demolished the wall and buried its debris in the ground. PM Modi also challenged the opposition, precisely the Congress, to announce that they will bring back Article 370, claiming that the people will not at all vote for them. 

PM Modi came heavily on the opposition leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, and Lalu Yadav for consuming meat and posting it across social media platforms during the holy months of Savan and Navratri. He also slammed the National Conference, Congress, and PDP for dynasty politics. "Here political party means of the family, by the family, and for the family." He added.

The Prime Minister assured the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. He also assured that the assembly polls will be held in the Union Territory soon. 

On 5th August 2019, A presidential order was passed to abrogate Article 370, making all provisions of the Indian Constitution applicable in the region of Jammu and Kashmir. Subsequently, The state of Jammu and Kashmir was bifurcated into two Union Territories; the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the Union Territory of Ladakh based on the Jammu Kashmir Reorganisation Act passed on 6th August 2019.
