The Municipal Corporation Department's secretary on Thursday postponed the MCD elections which were set to be held tomorrow. AAP has fielded Mahesh Khichi for the mayoral elections while Ravinder Bharadwaj will contest in the Deputy Mayor elections.
BY A STAFF REPORTER: The Municipal Corporation Department's secretary on Thursday postponed the MCD elections which were set to be held tomorrow.
The MCD Secretary issued a notice stating "since nomination of the Presiding Officer is mandatory as per Section 77(a) of the DMC Act, 1957 (as amended 2022). Therefore, it may not be possible to conduct elections of Mayor and Deputy Mayor as per schedule."
The Scheduled Election of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Delhi has been postponed.

Aam Aadmi Party has fielded its candidate Mahesh Khichi for the mayoral elections while Ravinder Bharadwaj will contest in the Deputy Mayor elections. Moreover, both candidates filed their nominations on April 18, Thursday.
