Delhi Court Grants Judicial Custody To K Kavitha Till April 23

The Central Bureau of Investigation sought 14-day judicial custody of K Kavitha before the Rouse Avenue Court. However, she was sent to an eight-day remand till April 23.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: As her CBI remand concluded, Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Monday sent BRS MLC K Kavitha to judicial custody in a liquor policy case till April 23.

The Central Bureau of Investigation sought 14-day judicial custody of K Kavitha before the Rouse Avenue Court. However, she was sent to an eight-day remand till April 23. K Kavitha was produced before the court as her CBI custody was set to end today. 

Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Friday granted BRS MLC K Kavitha's custody to the Central Bureau of Investigation till April 15 in the Delhi Excise Policy Case on April 12, Friday, ruling that thorough and sustained Interrogation is required in the view of material collected so far by the investigating agency.

The CBI took K Kavitha's custody under sections of criminal conspiracy and falsification of accounts of the Indian Penal Code & certain sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Moreover, the Rouse Avenue Court on Monday came heavily upon K Kavitha for evidently influencing witnesses and destroying evidence. Her interim bail plea on the grounds of her son's school examination was also rejected by the Rouse Avenue Court.

K Kavitha has been lodged in the Tihar Jail. Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court sent BRS MLC K Kavitha to judicial custody till April 9 in the Delhi Liquor Policy Case on March 26, Tuesday. The Enforcement Directorate arrested her on March 15 following a raid at her residence in Hyderabad.
