Furthermore, the protesters raised slogans demanding Mamata Banerjee's resignation from her post. Protesters held banners and sloganeered against Mamata Banerjee and TMC-led Bengal government.
Additionally, the controversial TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh was arrested by West Bengal Police in the Minakhan area of North 24 Parganas. He has been awarded 10-day custody by a local court in Basirhat. Furthermore, he has been suspended by the TMC for six years.
A village located in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, Sandeshkhali is witnessing significant clashes and violence following allegations of systematic sexual exploitations and land-grabbing committed by TMC leaders, Shahjahan Sheikh, Shibu Hazara and Uttam Sardar. Shahjahan Sheikh remained absconding since 5th January after an ED team was attacked by a large mob while conducting raids at Shahjahan's residence.
