Congress' Tajinder Singh Bittu Set To Join BJP

Shortly after resigning from the Congress, Tajinder Singh Bittu reached the BJP office along with the party's national spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill in Delhi on April 20, Saturday. Bittu resigned as the AICC Secretary in charge in Himachal Pradesh.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Shortly after resigning from the Congress, Tajinder Singh Bittu reached the BJP office along with the party's national spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill in Delhi on April 20, Saturday.

Tajinder Singh Bittu resigned as the AICC Secretary in charge in Himachal Pradesh and from the primary membership earlier today. 

The move comes a day after the conclusion of the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections. The first phase of the Lok Sabha elections was conducted in 102 constituencies across 21 states. Moreover, Tripura recorded the highest voter turnout at 79.90% followed by West Bengal at 77.57%. However, Bihar and Rajasthan recorded the lowest at 47.49% and 50.95% respectively. The second phase is set to begin on April 26. Total voter turnout was recorded at 60%.
