Congress Skipped Tax Return: Sambit Patra On Frozen Bank Accounts
Sambit Patra stated that the Congress party skipped the tax return deadline and extended the deadline in 2017-18. Patra also accused Congress of accepting a donation worth Rs. 14 lakhs in cash.
BY A STAFF REPORTER: Amid the frozen bank accounts controversy, BJP leader Sambit Patra on Saturday alleged that Congress skipped the tax return deadline hence facing frozen bank accounts.
Sambit Patra stated that the Congress party skipped the tax return deadline and extended the deadline in 2017-18. He further asserted that any political party cannot accept cash donations of more than Rs. 20,000. Patra also accused Congress of accepting a donation worth Rs. 14 lakhs in cash.

While addressing a presser on Thursday with Congress Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi maintained that the BJP has blocked the bank accounts of the Congress party which has hindered them from spending money on campaigns and giving salaries to their workers.
