Sonia Gandhi took the oath in the presence of Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairperson Jagdeep Dhankar and other members of the house. She succeeded former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as the Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan.
BY A STAFF REPORTER: After retiring from the Lok Sabha, Congress Chairperson Sonia Gandhi took oath as a Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan on April 4, Thursday.
Sonia Gandhi took the oath in the presence of Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairperson Jagdeep Dhankar and other members of the house. She succeeded former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as the Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan. Moreover, she served as a Lok Sabha MP from Rae Bareli for the past 10 years.

Furthermore, Sonia Gandhi's daughter and General Secretary of the Congress Party Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will contest from the Rae Bareli constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
