Bethune Collegiate School: 175 years! Chief Minister Mamata remembers Subhash-Bankim

By A Staff Reporter :  Bethune Collegiate School completed 175 years.Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee remembered two accomplished Bengali Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Bankim Chandra Chatterjee by participating in a special program organized on that  special occasion. Standing on the stage of the 175th anniversary ceremony, she said, "History of Bengal, history of pride. Nowhere is there so much creation like Bengal. Bengal's Subhash Chandra gave Jai Hind slogan to the country. Bankim's Bande Mataram is celebrated all over the country.'' On the other hand, the Chief Minister also highlighted the role of Bethune School in promoting women's education. Said, "175 years ago saplings have turned into trees today. Bethune school has an important role in women's education. Society cannot progress without women's education."
