The state police and central forces are not acting in tandem to  thwart any post poll violence. After initial round of acrimony amid accusation of non cooperation by the state election commission and state police as alleged central forces coordinator in eastern region, two senior officers, director general of CRPF Dr SL Thousen and special DG, BSF, Yogesh Khurania flew down to Kolkata. There were a series of meetings between Chief secretary HK Dwivedi, director general of police West Bengal Manoj Malviya, Dr SL Thousen and Yogesh Khurania during the last two days and it is believed that all issues were sorted out. “The state police and central forces are cooperating with each other,” said Dr SL Thousen. The central forces will be assisting the state police in controlling law and order and post poll violence for ten days after the declaration of the election results.
