CBI Team Brings Shahjahan Sheikh To ESI Hospital

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, the Central Bureau of Investigation brought Sandeshkhali accused Shahjahan Sheikh to Kolkata's ESI hospital, West Bengal on 8th March, Friday.

Moreover, Shahjahan Sheikh was brought for his medical examination. The reason is yet to be ascertained. However, Shahjahan Sheikh went through a medical examination moments before the transfer of his custody to CBI.

CBI took over Sandeshkhali accused Shahjahan Sheikh's custody from the West Bengal CID after the second order of the Calcutta High Court on Wednesday.

The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday transferred the Sandeshkhali case including the attack on ED sleuths and allegations on Shahjahan Sheikh to the Central Bureau of Investigation. 

Prime accused in the Sandeshkhali matter, Shahjahan Sheikh was arrested on 29th February, Thursday. He was suspended for six years by the Trinamool Congress. 

A village located in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, Sandeshkhali is witnessing significant clashes and violence following allegations of systematic sexual exploitations and land-grabbing committed by TMC leaders, Shahjahan Sheikh, Shibu Hazara and Uttam Sardar. Shahjahan Sheikh remained absconding since 5th January after an ED team was attacked by a large mob while conducting raids at Shahjahan's residence.
