Cases Against TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh Taken Over By Bengal CID

Shortly after his arrest, the West Bengal Crime Investigation Department is set to take over the Investigation into the cases against Trinamool Congress leader and prime accused in the Sandeshkhali incident Shahjahan Sheikh on 29th February, Thursday.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Shortly after his arrest, the West Bengal Crime Investigation Department (CID) is set to take over the Investigation into the cases against Trinamool Congress leader and prime accused in the Sandeshkhali incident Shahjahan Sheikh on 29th February, Thursday.

Furthermore, Shahjahan Sheikh was brought to Bhabani Bhawan (West Bengal Police HQ) after being awarded 10-day custody from the local court in Basirhat today. 

Shahjahan Sheikh was arrested by West Bengal Police in the Manikah area of North 24 Parganas after Calcutta High Court ordered that Shahjahan Sheikh be arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation, Enforcement Directorate or the West Bengal Police.  Furthermore, Shahjahan Sheikh has been absconding since 5th January when an ED team was attacked by a mob while conducting raids at Sheikh's residence.

A village located in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, Sandeshkhali is witnessing significant clashes and violence following allegations of systematic sexual exploitations and land-grabbing committed by TMC leaders, Shahjahan Sheikh, Shibu Hazara and Uttam Sardar.
