Kolkata, November 10 — The Department of Posts, West Bengal Circle, has announced the 10th State-Level Philatelic Exhibition, BONGOPEX-2025, to be held from November 14 to 17, 2025, at Science City, Kolkata. The exhibition aims to promote the art and knowledge of philately — the collection and study of postage stamps — among enthusiasts, students, and the general public.
The four-day event will showcase around 400 frames of rare and diverse stamps, offering visitors a glimpse into the historical, cultural, and social narratives depicted through postal heritage. It will serve as a meeting ground for collectors, researchers, dealers, students, and postal officials, encouraging exchange of ideas and expanding public interest in the hobby.
In addition to the exhibition, a series of engaging activities such as Philatelic workshops, letter-writing contests, stamp designing competitions, sit-and-draw sessions, and quizzes will be organised for participants across all age groups. These initiatives aim to inspire creativity, enhance awareness, and encourage the younger generation to explore meaningful pastimes beyond digital screens.
Appealing to parents, teachers, and families, the Postal Department urged everyone to attend and make the event a success. Described as the “King of Hobbies,” philately continues to foster curiosity and knowledge across generations.
