BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent statement, Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of hindering Congress' Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

Moreover, Siddaramaiah emphasized that the Congress Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is organized to understand people's issues and problems and subsequently find a resolution for the same. He stated that the government must provide strong security for Rahul Gandhi. Siddaramaiah also alleged that Assam's CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, a former member of Congress, is trying to appease Union Home Minister Amit Shah and his party (BJP).

The statement comes after Congress MP Rahul Gandhi was prevented from entering Guwahati during Congress' Bharat Jodo Yatra yesterday which resulted in a clash between the congress workers and Assam district police. Subsequently, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ordered the Assam DGP to book Rahul Gandhi for provoking the crowd and violating agreed guidelines. A case registered against Rahul Gandhi under section three of the PDPP Act was transferred to Assam CID today.
