Kolkata : The Birla Industrial & Technological Museum (BITM), Kolkata, has started illuminating its historic heritage building in the colours of the Indian National Flag as part of the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ celebrations. The illumination, which began on August 2, will continue till August 15, symbolizing the museum's tribute to the spirit of India’s Independence.

Led by Director of BITM, Mr. Arnab Chatterjee, the museum has organised a series of activities to engage visitors and students in the patriotic fervour of the occasion. These include a tricolour-themed Rangoli contest where students will design artworks inspired by the national flag. The Rangoli creations will be preserved and displayed during the flag hoisting ceremony on August 15.

In the coming days, the museum will also host a tricolour-themed science show and an open house quiz designed to educate and engage students with the history and symbolism of the Indian flag. These interactive events aim to inspire a deeper connection with the ideals of the Independence Day celebrations.

Adding a personal touch to the campaign, a specially designed selfie point has been set up where visitors can pose with the tricolour. This installation, along with the heritage building’s illumination, will remain open to the public till Independence Day.

BITM’s series of initiatives align with the national ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, aiming to inspire citizens to celebrate India’s Independence by embracing the tricolour in everyday life, symbolizing unity, pride, and collective identity.
