Kolkata: The Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) 2025 kicked off with significant international participation, as West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee welcomed delegates from across the globe. Addressing the gathering, she reflected on Bengal’s historical significance and expressed gratitude for the global response to the summit.

"Once, Bengal was the capital of India before independence, and at that time, Bihar, Bengal, Odisha, all of us were together. It was very big. We are honoured by the overwhelming global response for BGBS this year," Banerjee said.

The summit, a key event for promoting investment in West Bengal, has attracted representatives from 40 countries, including 25 ambassadors and heads of commissions. The CM praised their participation, calling it a testament to Bengal's growing global economic presence.

Over the years, BGBS has positioned itself as a premier platform for fostering trade and investment opportunities, drawing industrialists, policymakers, and global stakeholders. The 2025 edition is expected to witness major announcements in sectors such as infrastructure, IT, manufacturing, and renewable energy.
