BY A STAFF REPORTER: A day before Ram Navami, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday slammed the Trinamool Congress for trying to halt the Ram Navami celebrations and blocking central schemes in West Bengal.

While addressing a mega rally in Balurghat, PM Modi stated that this is the first Ram Navami after Ram Lalla was enthroned in Ayodhya's Ram Mandir. He further accused TMC of trying to halt the celebrations in the state. Further, PM Modi expressed glee over the Court permitting the celebrations. He asserted that tomorrow Ram Navami processions will be taken out with full reverence and devotion.

PM Modi took a jibe at the TMC-led West Bengal government for atrocities against women and blocking of central schemes in West Bengal.

For the first time, Ram Navami has been declared as the official holiday in the state of West Bengal. Moreover, the Calcutta High Court on Monday gave a nod to Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Anjani Putra Sena to take out Ram Navami processions in Howrah under certain conditions on April 17, Wednesday.
