Azad Urges ECI To Hold J&K's Vidhan Sabha Polls A Month After LS Polls

The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir stated "I would like to request the Election Commission and Government of India to conduct the Vidhan Sabha elections, one month after the Lok Sabha elections".

BY A STAFF REPORTER:  day after the announcement of the Lok Sabha Elections Schedule, DPAP Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday requested the Election Commission and the government to hold Vidhan Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir a month after the Lok Sabha elections. 

The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir stated "I would like to request the Election Commission and Government of India to conduct the Vidhan Sabha elections, one month after the Lok Sabha elections". 

The Election Commission of India is set to announce the dates for Vidhan Sabha elections for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir after the Lok Sabha Elections conclude.

The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on March 16. The election will be held in seven phases beginning on April 19. Moreover, the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect since the announcement and will be imposed till the result declaration.
