Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized the West Bengal government's stance on infiltration, citing recent statements by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. "You have heard the statement of West Bengal CM. When an elected CM says that I am going to open my border and give relief and rehabilitation, then you can see that the situation is grim," Sarma said.

He continued, "That statement itself shows that West Bengal is very soft about infiltration and demography is fast-changing in West Bengal. You just see the voter's list of 2024 and compare it with the list of 2019 and you will see the percentage of increase immediately. You can see the ratio of Hindu-Muslims in 2019 and 2024 in West Bengal."
