Another Birsa Munda Can Emerge: NCST VC Ananta Nayak In Sandeshkhali
In a recent statement, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) Vice-Chairman Ananta Nayak on Thursday condemned the situation in unrest-hit Sandeshkhali, claiming that it can result in another Birsa Munda.
BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent statement, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) Vice-Chairman Ananta Nayak on Thursday condemned the situation in unrest-hit Sandeshkhali, claiming that it can result in another Birsa Munda.
During his visit to Sandeshkhali, to investigate the allegations of sexual exploitation and land-grabbing, Ananta Nayak emphasized that there's a sense of fear among the populace. Nayal further stated that such incidents shall not occur or else individuals akin to Birsa Munda may arise.

Nayak also mentioned that they have requested a report from the state DGP Rajeev Kumar, who recently visited Sandeshkhali.
Born in 1875, Birsa Munda was a famous Tribal Independence Activist from Jharkhand.
A village located in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, Sandeshkhali is witnessing significant clash and violence following allegations of systematic sexual exploitations and land-grabbing committed by TMC leaders, Shahjahan Sheikh, Shibu Hazara and Uttam Sardar. While others have been arrested, Shahjahan Sheikh remains absconding.
