BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul welcomed the Election Commission's decision to transfer four District Magistrates in West Bengal on March 21, Thursday.

Agnimitra Paul also stressed that West Bengal has seen the history of elections under the TMC rule, and the state needs free and fair elections. She further alleged that ordinary people were not allowed to vote in the previous elections. 

Earlier today, the Election Commission of India issued a transfer order to District Magistrates of four Bengal districts namely Purba Medinipur, Jhargram, Purba Bardhaman, and Birbhum districts as the posts are for officers of Indian Administrative Services or Indian Police Services. Moreover, the ECI issued transfer orders to DMs and SPs of Punjab, Odisha, and Gujarat as well.
