Another terrorist got arrested by STF from Chennai

The STF has arrested another terrorist from Chennai after interrogating Mohammad Habibullah, a member of Ansar al-Islam's Shahadat group.

By A STAFF REPORTER: Habibullah, a member of Shahadat, a member of banned militant outfit Ansar al-Islam, was arrested from Kanksar Mirpara in West Burdwan. Terrorist Sheikh Harez was arrested from Gaighata in North 24 Parganas district.


Subsequently, the Special Task Force (STF) of the state police busted another terrorist Sheikh Anwar in Chennai. Who is Sheikh Anwar? He is a resident of Kulsona village in Mangalkot taluka of East Burdwan. He studied up to the third grade. He used to work in a laundry in Chennai and earn money and send it home, so he told his family and locals. 


Members of the militant organization formed a group named Shahadat and started recruiting members. Kanksar Mohammad Habibullah was closely associated with this militant organization. After interrogating him, Sheikh Harez was arrested from Gaighata in North 24 Parganas and Sheikh Anwar from Chennai. They used to spread various religiously provocative and anti-national news from the blog. 

He used to do this work in Chennai. Sheikh Anwar was arrested on Friday in a sedition case. He was produced before the Durgapur sub-divisional court which remanded him in police custody for 14 days. The STF officials then took Sheikh Anwar into their custody.
