BY A STAFF REPORTER: Amid the Lok Sabha elections, West Bengal Congress President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Wednesday addressed a letter to Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar over alleged misuse of law by the law Enforcement agencies.

In the letter, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury stated "I am writing to bring to your attention and seek your immediate intervention to put an end to the blatant acts of misuse of the law by the law enforcement agencies themselves in implicating persons affiliated to the Congress on false and frivolous charges with the obvious intention of marring the Party's electoral prospects."

Through the letter, Chowdhury highlighted the Bachu Mondal matter, an elected Panchayat Samithi Member. Chowdhury alleged that Mondal was arrested on flimsy and frivolous grounds. He further wrote that Bachu Mondal was booked once again on fictitious grounds today after being granted bail.
