Rath Yatra horror in Odisha

At least 7 people, including 3 children were killed by being burnt alive when a chariot came in contact with high voltage wire. It happened during Ulto Rath when the iron made chariot came in contact with the high voltage electricity, resulting in death of 6 people on the spot. 1 person died on the way to the hospital. 20 people have suffered from critical injuries and have been admitted to the hospital. The police have launched an investigation into the incident. The Prime Minister has expressed his condolences and announced 2 lakhs compensation for family members of dead and 50,000 for injured people.
