Rath Yatra is ahead, Do you know the meaning of Jagannath?

By A Staff Reporter :  One of the Hindu festivals is Rath Yatra.Jagannath Dev is the center of this festival.He went to his aunt's house in a chariot with Balaram-Subhadra.It is known that Jagannath is composed of two words.This Jag means world and Nath means Jagannath.Lord Jagannath is a form of Lord Krishna, one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu.After going to the aunt's house i.e. Gundicha temple, all rituals from puja-path are carefully followed.Even delicacies bhog also offered to Jagannath Dev.Darshan of Lord Jagannath while staying at aunt's house is called adapa-darshan.Mahaprasad of coconut, malpua, gaja and sweets etc. is offered to Jagannath on these days. Jagannath Dev returned to the temple again from his aunt's house in a reverse Rath Yatra.
