Teacher Thrashes Student For Raising 'Jai Shree Ram' Slogans

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a shocking incident, a teacher reportedly physically assaulted a student of class seventh over raising the slogans of 'Jai Shree Ram' on Saturday in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district.

The incident took place in Shahdol's Green Bells School, which is a private school. Moreover, the accused is Mohammad Abdul Wahid who teaches English at the same school. As per the reports, A group of students raised 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans, in the school premises which provoked the teacher. Subsequently, the student's family lodged a complaint against the teacher at the nearest police station.

The teacher has been arrested and charged under several sections of the Indian Penal Code and section 82 of the Juvenile Justice Act which criminalizes corporal punishment.
