BY A STAFF REPORTER: Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Nationalist Congress Party Chief announced on Wednesday that he will skip the Ram Temple's consecration ceremony as devotees are swarming the city currently.

Moreover, the NCP chief stated that it will be easier to seek the blessings of Lord Ram later in time as the Ram devotees are swarming the city due to immense joy and zeal. Pawar mentioned that he will visit the temple once the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony concludes.

However, the top Congress leaders cited a different reason for skipping the event. Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary turned down the invitation to the consecration ceremony last week as they consider it an 'RSS/BJP' event. Although, former Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President Nirmal Khatri announced that he will be participating in the ceremony.

The consecration procedures of the Ram Temple began on Tuesday, January 16, and will last seven days. Over 7,000 dignitaries are expected to attend the grand Pran-Pratishtha event on January 22nd in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
