BY A STAFF REPORTER: The people of Suryavanshi Thakur community on Thursday wore turbans after almost 500 years in Sarairasi village to commemorate the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
The clan took a vow to not wear a turban until Ram Mandir was re-established on the same site. The descendants wore saffron-colored turbans and fulfilled their ages-old vow. The Sarairasi village is a suburb located in Ayodhya Uttar Pradesh.
The Ram Temple consecration rituals began on January 16 Tuesday and will continue for seven days. The idol of Lord Ram will be placed today at the sanctum sanctorum. Over 7,000 dignitaries will be attending the grand Pran-Pratishtha ceremony on 22nd January in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
