By a Staff Reporter: It was closed for 21 years under the rule of Maoists. The Maoists also wanted to raze the Ram temple to dust. Finally, the doors of that Ram Temple opened just before Ram Navami. Local devotees once again thronged Sukma Ram temple in Chhattisgarh. After cleaning the idol, the puja started again.

This temple is located in Kerlapenda village of Sukma. At one time Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Maa Sita were worshiped with great pomp. But as the Maoist activities gradually increased, the temple itself became the secret hideout of the Maoists. The Maoists ordered not to step on the side of that temple. Since 2003, no one from the village used to go there. Puja also stopped in this temple.
