By A Staff Reporter: It was an extremely disappointing performance by women archers at the Olympics. Indian eves ranked fourth lost to Netherlands who were ranked twelfth and missed a chance to proceed to the semifinals. The way archers Ankita Bhakat, Deepika Kumari and Bhajan Kaur shot their arrows, it seemed that they have come for a vacation in Paris.

The performance of the three archers raised questions about the viability of sending a team to Paris. Bhakat is one of her shots could manage a score of only four. Fingers are also being raised at coach Purnima Mahato for such pathetic display by the Indians. What irked experts the most was that other quarterfinals were closely fought but Indians meekly surrendered. With government spending so much money on training of the archers, the initial result has left a lot to be desired.
