Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate a key 13-kilometer segment of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor on January 5, 2025. The section stretches between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar and is part of a larger project designed to revolutionize regional transportation.
The project, valued at approximately ₹4,600 crore, aims to significantly improve connectivity between Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut, offering a faster and more efficient mode of travel for commuters. The corridor is expected to play a vital role in reducing traffic congestion and travel time while promoting sustainable urban mobility.
The 82-km-long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS (Regional Rapid Transit System) corridor is being constructed as a high-speed, eco-friendly transit solution. The Namo Bharat corridor is designed with advanced technology, featuring modern stations, energy-efficient trains, and robust infrastructure to cater to the increasing demand for regional connectivity.
This inauguration marks the first operational stretch of the corridor, with the full completion of the project anticipated in the near future. Once completed, the corridor is expected to provide seamless travel and boost economic activities in the region.
