Will Manipur see a change of guard after the government failed to control violence?

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Is the BJP contemplating to change the unpopular chief minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh after his government failed to control ethnic violence in the state. Union home minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah had a series of discussions on steps to control violence with the Manipur chief minister. According to local BJP leaders, there is serious discontent among the party leaders, ministers and rank and file over the way Biren Singh is running the state. Sources told ANM News that names of power minister Thongam Biswajit Singh, tribal affairs minister Letpao Haokip and union minister of state for external affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh are doing the rounds to replace Biren Singh.
