Voxtur Bio Develops A Rapid Test for Sickle Cell Disease Screening

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Voxtur Bio succesfully develops a world-class rapid test for sickle-cell anemia, becoming the maiden indigenous manufacturer in India and the third in the world to achieve so.  

Backed by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and licenses from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), Voxtur Bio developed this project in a span of 4 weeks. Moreover, the test outperformed the competition in Sensitivity, Specificity, and Accuracy, achieving a perfect 100% score in all three parameters. 

The government of India, on their commitment to eliminate sickle cell anemia from the country, initiated a mass-testing program and assigned a budget of Rs. 700 crores. , with Rs. 100 per test, resulting in a total of 7 crores tests to be conducted. 

As they were unable to find an in-budget manufactures, Voxtur Bio. Undertook the project and fulfilled it successfully. 

The Sickle Cell Screen Rapid test is designed for identifying haemoglobin types in whole blood. It helps in timely detection of Sickle-cell disease (SDC) and providing crucial information to healthcare individuals caring for the SDC patients.
