Vice Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi Takes Command as the VC of Naval Staff

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Dinesh K Tripathi took charge as the Vice Chief of Naval Staff in a handover ceremony in New Delhi on 4th January, Thursday. 

Succeeding Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh, Tripathi was appointed the 38th Vice Chief of Naval Staff on 5th December 2023. Before his incumbent appointment, Tripathi served as Western Naval Command’s Flag Officer Commanding-in-chief. Furthermore, he joined the service on 1st July 1985. 

The Sainik school Alumnus has commanded various warships including INS Vinash, Kirch, and Trishul exhibiting his illustrious leadership and operational skills.  

A Communication and Electronic Warfare specialist, he served as the Signals Communication officer and Electronic Warfare Officer of the Guided Missile Destroyer during the initial years of his career.
