Uttarakhand's 'Adventure Sports' Tableau Selected for Republic Day Parade

New Delhi | Uttarakhand’s tableau showcasing the theme of 'Adventure Sports' has been selected to feature at the Republic Day Parade 2025 on Kartavya Path in New Delhi. This prestigious honor comes after a rigorous selection process by an Expert Committee constituted under the Ministry of Defense, Government of India.

In October 2024, a total of 34 states and union territories submitted their tableau proposals to the committee. The proposals included designs, models, and music that represented each region’s cultural and thematic diversity. Uttarakhand’s submission, highlighting the state's unparalleled adventure sports opportunities, was presented by Nodal Officer and Joint Director of Information, K.S. Chauhan.

During multiple rounds of deliberation, Chauhan showcased the state’s tableau design, accompanying model, and music composition to the committee. The presentation was overseen by Director General of Information, Banshidhar Tiwari, who played a key role in the conceptualization and fine-tuning of the proposal.

The tableau is expected to captivate audiences by featuring elements that represent the thrill of adventure sports like river rafting, mountaineering, skiing, and paragliding—activities for which Uttarakhand is widely known. It will also aim to emphasize the natural beauty and vibrant culture of the Himalayan state.
