Lakhisarai, Bihar | Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday accused the previous UPA government of large-scale corruption, claiming it was involved in scams worth ₹12 lakh crore, while asserting that no one can question Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on integrity or governance.
Addressing an election rally in Lakhisarai, Shah said, “During the UPA’s rule, scams worth ₹12 lakh crore took place. But in the governments led by Modi ji and Nitish ji, nobody can point fingers at them for corruption. Both have provided transparent governance.”
Highlighting the NDA’s developmental record, the Home Minister said the alliance has significantly boosted Bihar’s infrastructure and economy. “Under NDA rule, ₹18 lakh crore has been spent on road, railway, and greenfield expressway projects in Bihar,” Shah stated.
He further added that initiatives like the establishment of the Makhana Board demonstrate the government’s commitment to promoting local industries and regional products.
