Yogi Adityanath
By A Staff Reporter
Lucknow: Concerned over the increasing water scarcity in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday called for a mass movement focused on the construction and restoration of check dams and ponds across the state. The initiative is modeled on the successful ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, which encouraged widespread public participation in tree planting.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to actively involve local communities, panchayats, and government departments in accelerating the creation and rehabilitation of water bodies. He emphasized that this initiative is crucial for ensuring sustainable water management and addressing both drinking water shortages and irrigation needs in rural and urban areas.
