Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has extended a warm welcome to devotees attending the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, describing it as the “biggest event of the century” during his address in Prayagraj. The grand religious congregation has already witnessed a staggering participation of 35 crore pilgrims, with expectations that the number will surpass 45 crore by February 26.
“I welcome you all to the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. It is a moment of happiness that the biggest event of the century has been organised in Prayagraj,” said CM Yogi. Emphasizing the city’s historical and spiritual significance, he added, “Prayagraj is an ancient city, and the organization of Kumbh is also its natural byproduct. Your visit encourages us even more.”
Highlighting the religious and cultural essence of the event, the Chief Minister remarked, “This is an amazement for people. Here, the Ganga is considered divine. There is a huge scope for spiritual tourism in the country, and events like this showcase India’s rich heritage to the world.”

The occasion was further marked by the visit of Vice President of India, who participated in the mass gathering, alongside several heads of foreign missions. CM Yogi expressed his gratitude, saying, “Today is an important day, as the Vice President came here and participated in this mass event. The heads of missions were also present. I hope this visit will give everyone good memories.”
