New Delhi: Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi reflected on his childhood aspirations while attending the Republic Day parade in Delhi, lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of inclusivity. Speaking about his experience, Joshi recalled how his upbringing in a government Kannada school in Karnataka limited his opportunities to witness the parade in person due to travel constraints and lack of access to passes.
"I always wanted to visit Delhi and watch the Republic Day parade, but since I studied in a government Kannada school, I couldn’t make it due to the long travel and lack of passes," Joshi shared. He noted that traditionally, the parades on January 26 and August 15 were more accessible to people living near Delhi.

However, Joshi highlighted that PM Modi’s vision has now transformed the experience, making it more inclusive by inviting beneficiaries of government schemes to attend the parade. "The 26th January and 15th August parades were mainly for people living near Delhi. But PM Modi’s vision has made it possible for people benefiting from government schemes to be invited to watch the parade," he said.
Joshi emphasized how improved infrastructure and communication have made such opportunities available to more people across the country. "I couldn’t attend until I became an MP, but now with improved communication, many of you may have come before. I warmly welcome all of you from my department," he added.
