Union minister fears for his life in Manipur

Union Minister Rajkumar Ranjan Singh is worried about rising tensions in Manipur. He told ANM News about his apprehension.

By A Staff Reporter: The minister of state for external affairs and education and Member of Parliament from Inner Manipur, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh fears for his life. Speaking to ANM News, Singh said militants are attacking elected representatives. There were reports of some houses being burnt and people moving around with firearms. Local police admitted that one person died in firing but the actual cause could not be ascertained. Singh claimed that there are intelligence reports that his house in Imphal might be attacked. “I have requested security advisor to provide me with extra security and some personnel in my Imphal house,” he said. The union minister will be going to Manipur on Thursday for an international seminar.
