New Delhi: The Union Budget 2025, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, has drawn sharp criticism from the opposition, with Congress MP Randeep Singh Surjewala calling it "disappointing" and detrimental to economic growth. Addressing the media, Surjewala raised pressing concerns regarding fuel prices, employment generation, and farmers' welfare.
"Not just this budget is disappointing, but it will hamper growth as well," said Surjewala. He posed key questions to the government, asking, "Has this budget decreased the rates of petrol and diesel? No. Has this budget made provisions to generate employment for the youth? No. Has this budget introduced a provision for MSP for farmers? No."
The Congress leader accused the government of failing to address the needs of common citizens, especially amid economic uncertainties and rising inflation. He argued that the budget lacked measures to support the working class and farmers, both of whom are struggling with financial burdens.
