The Supreme Court on Friday stayed the Madras High Court’s decision that had quashed the chargesheet filed by the Tamil Nadu Police in connection with the murder of former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) state president K Armstrong.

A bench of the Supreme Court, while issuing the stay order, observed that the matter required detailed examination before any final conclusion could be reached. The apex court’s intervention effectively revives the chargesheet that the Madras High Court had set aside earlier, providing relief to the state police’s investigation team.
